  • And at the same time, you know what else I got to do?

I got to see my 17 year old daughter come through the door with a smile on her face delighted to be home so that she could share with me events from her day, as she said, "I couldn't wait to get home to tell you..."

and all I could think was how very lucky I am to be the one with whom she longed to share such joy from her personal life.

Late night talks about real stuff in her life is pure blessing to me!

  • Focus on the Blessings!

Guess what I get to do tonight:

      1. In about an hour, I get to walk through the door of Landon's Day care and call his name and see his face light up and him scoot across the floor.
      2. I get to take him home and play in my ever progressing day care of my own.  We just got a pull up bar and safety mirror for the wall and he just loves it!
      3. I get to take Landon for a walk.
      4. I get to feed that big ole' boy and watch him get it EVERYWHERE
      5. I get to watch his absolute delight in the bathtub as he splashes.
      6. I get to read him his favorite book, "Goodnight Moon" and listen to his squeal of laughter when we get to the page where it says, "Goodnight nobody" (he is developing his sense of humor)
      7. I get to cradle him in my arms while feeding him his warm bedtime bottle as he struggles to maintain his gaze on me, but finally drifts off to sleep.
      8. I get to hear him breathe through the night and say a prayer of thanksgiving for this wonderful JOY in my life!

Aren't I just about the "richest" person in the world?

Willing myself to focus on the blessings and NOT the exhaustion.  Not easy, but it is good for my soul!
